FIST OF THE EAST (Germany, 2018)

Two stuntmen are hired as choreographers and medieval goons in a stageplay called "Fist of the East". The title character (played by Raffael Armbruster) - a muscle head with a thick East German accent happens to be not only the director's (Alessandro Lo Cacciato) actor of choice but also his secret love interest - an interest that clearly has priority over everything else. Not a favourable situation for our two stuntmen. To please or not to please is the question... 

A short film that me and my brother shot while working for the Semper Opera in Dresden. I wrote the script while also directing the short and choreographing the action together with my brother. Alessandro Lo Cacciato with whom we have worked on several other productions (Poetry in Motion, Wrong Way) did an awesome job portraying - yet again - an excentric director, a role that we know he can handle well since Poetry in Motion, our first collaborative work with him. First-timer Raffael Armbruster who is a professional stuntman was very eager to take part and expand his screenfighting skill-set. This movie also marks me and my brother's first old-school style fight scene after 10 years!
